For over 160 years, Hönnetaler Kettenfabrik GmbH & Co. KG has stood for quality from the Sauerland region. As a medium-sized company, we combine the deep-rooted know-how of chain craftsmanship with the requirements of the global market.
We are your specialized manufacturer of round steel chains and accessories with strengths in the development of individual and technically sound chain solutions manufactured exactly for your application.
Who We Are
Hönnetaler Kettenfabrik GmbH & Co. KG is a medium-sized company with 42 qualified employees. Our mission is to offer individual custom solutions and standardized products in the field of chains and their accessories.
- Historical on the outside, modern on the inside: Behind our historic facades in Sundern-Hövel operates an extensive machine park.
- Europe-wide Export: We manufacture chains for various industries across Europe. In addition to our strong core market in the DACH region, we export our round steel chains to Scandinavia, France, Spain, the Netherlands, Italy and Poland.
- Specialized in Custom Solutions: If classic DIN chains according to standards such as DIN 764 or DIN 766 are not sufficient for your application, we as a chain manufacturer can implement your individual requirements quickly, flexibly, and technically according to specifications thanks to our own toolmaking shop.

- Certified Quality Management: Hönnetaler Kettenfabrik GmbH & Co. KG has been certified by DNV according to ISO 9001:2015 for over 30 years. This certification covers the manufacture and trade of round steel chains and accessories and documents the standardization of our internal processes.
- Technical Expertise: Our employees are regularly trained and participate in further education to apply technical innovations and developments for the benefit of the customer. Several employees have certification as MT testers (Magnetic Particle Testing) according to DIN EN ISO 9712.
- Experience in Management: The company is led by Christian Wurst, a specialist with over 25 years of experience in the manufacture of round steel chains. Mr. Wurst served as operations manager at the company from July 2017 before taking over the management in January 2021.
